Tamarind Chutney/Imli Chutney

  • Tamarind (1 lemon size)
  • Jaggery (1/2 cup)
  • Coriander seeds (1 tbsp, crushed)
  • Chilly powder (1 tsp)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)


  1. In 2 cups of water, add tamarind, jaggery, coriander, chilly powder, salt and bring them to boil.
  2. In a slow flame cook for 15 to 20 minutes till the flavor of tamarind and other spices mix well in water.
  3. Strain the water and keep it aside.

Tamarind chutney is ready to be served with Papdi Chaat & Dahi Papdi Chaat, Punjabi Samosa, Bhel Puri and all other types of Chaat recipes.
