Pink tea cupcakes

Pink tea cupcakes are soft and yummy. they make fantastic tea time snacks.


  • All purpose flour (1 cup)
  • Cornflour (1/2 cup)
  • Baking powder(1/2 cup)
  • Baking soda(a pinch)
  • Eggs(4)
  • Powdered sugar(1 & 1/4 cup)
  • Vanilla essence (1 tsp)
  • Oil (3/4 cup)
  • Icing sugar(1 & 1/4 cup)
  • Food coloring (rose or pink color, 2 drops)
  • Hot water (2 tbsp)


  • Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, sift all purpose flour, cornflour, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Sift well and throw away the residue.
  • In another mixing bowl, add eggs, and beat well.
  • Add powdered sugar into it and beat well vigorously for 15 minutes. You can also use an electric beater.
  • Add vanilla essence, oil and mix it gradually
  • Add the sift flour into the mixture and fold in gently so that the air do not escape from the egg and sugar mixture.
  • Line the muffin cups on the muffin tray and pour the batter into it.
  • Fill in 3/4 cup with batter since the batter will rise while baking and will fill the cup.
  • Bake it in a pre-heated over at 180 degree Celsius for 17 minutes or till they are cooked.
  • Once done, check the cup cakes if they are cooked from the inside by inserting a fork or a toothpick. If the toothpick or fork comes out clean, the cup cakes are cooked. Keep the cupcakes aside and will make the icing for the cupcakes.
  • In another bowl, sift the icing sugar, rose color and hot water.
  • Mix well till the mixture becomes smooth. The icing is now ready.
  • With the help of a spread knife, apply and spread the icing on the cupcake.

Bake a chocolate cake

Chocolate cake is our all time favourite. This christmas, I will show you the easy way to bake one.


All purpose flour(1 cup)
Cocoa powder (1/2 cup)
Baking soda
Baking powder
Eggs (4)
Powdered sugar(1 & 1/4 cup)
Vanilla essence(1 tsp)
Oil (3/4 cup)
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree celcius for 10 minutes.
Sift the all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda
and baking powder together. Keep it aside.
In another mixing bowl, add 4 egss and wisk well.
Add the powdered sugar and beat it for 15 minutes. You
can also use and electric beater to beat the egg and
Add vanilla essence.
Add oil and gradually mix it.
Add the sift flour mix and fold in gently. Fold till
the dry ingredients mixes well with the mixture.
Do not wisk it or beat the mixture as the air will
start to escape.
After folding in the batter we will get a chocolate mix
and our cake mix is ready.
Pour the mixture in a greased cake tray.
Bake it at 180 degree celcius in a pre-heated oven for
45 minutes.
Take out the cake from the oven and check if it is
cooked on the inside. Insert the toothpick in the
center of the cake and if it comes out clean, then the
cake is cooked on the inside.
Wait for 5 to 10 minutes before removing the cake from
the tray.
Spongy chocolate cake is now ready to be serve.

Banana muffin recipe

Banana muffin is an easy and quick to make recipe.

Whole wheat flour(1/2 cup)
All purpose flour/maida(1/2 cup)
Baking powder(3/4 tsp)
Egg (1)
Butter (1/3 cup)
Milk (1/3 cup)
Banana (1 ripe)
Vanilla essence(1 tsp)
Powdered sugar(3/4 cup)
Line the muffin tin with muffin cups.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
Sift whole wheat flour, baking powder and all purpose flour together. Throw away the residue and mix well the dry ingredients. Keep it aside.
Beat an egg till it becomes fluffy. Keep it aside.
In a microwave safe dish, add butter and milk and microwave it for 2 minutes.
Take a ripe banana and mash it with a fork. Keep it aside.
Remove the milk and butter from microwave and add vanilla essence and powdered sugar. Beat till we get a creamy consistency.
Add beaten egg, sift flour and fold in gently.
Fold till we get a lumpy batter of a soft dropping consistency. Do not over mix, once the consistency is reached, stop mixing it.
Fill the muffin tray with the mix.
Use a spoon to fill in the muffin tray and fill in half cup of the tray since the muffin will rise once it is baked.
Bake it at 180 degree celsius for 25 minutes in a pre-heated oven.
Allow the muffin to cool before serving.
Banana muffin is now ready to be served.

Clafoutis – A Classic French Dessert

Clafoutis is a French Classical dessert and a very easy to make recipe.


  • Prunes(1 cup)
  • Lime juice(of half lime)
  • Grape juice OR Sweet dessert wine(1 cup)
  • All purpose flour(3/4 cup)
  • Sugar(1/3 cup)
  • Salt(a pinch)
  • Vanilla essense (1 tsp)
  • Eggs(3)
  • Milk(1 & 1/3 cup)


  1. In a bowl, add prunes, lime juice & Grape juice/Sweet dessert wine and mix well and allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, add all purpose flour, sugar, salt, vanilla essence, eggs, milk and mix the ingredients to make a smooth batter.
  3. Preheat the oven at 170 degree celcuis. Grease a baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle some sugar to coat the dish lightly. After that place the marinated prunes in the baking dish and pour
  5. the batter.
  6. Bake it in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes at 170 degree celcius.
  7. Test the dish to ensure that the batter is cooked thoroughly and remove it from the oven.

Clafoutis is now ready to be served at room temperature. Garnish it with some prunes and enjoy the dish.

Eggless Almond Cake


  • Almonds (25 gms)
  • Sugar (1 cup)
  • All purpose flour (1 cup)
  • Baking soda(1 tsp)
  • Yoghurt (1 cup)
  • Oil (1/2 cup)


  1. Pre-heat oven at 180 Degree Celcius for 10 minutes.
  2. Powder the sugar and almonds and add them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add all purpose flour, baking soda, yoghurt and mix well.
  4. Add oil and mix again. Cake mix is now ready.
  5. Pour this mix in a baking dish and bake it at 180 Degree Celcius for 50 minutes in a pre-heated oven.

Yummy Eggless Almond Cake is now ready to be served. Enjoy!

Orange Muffin

Orange muffin is very flavorful, fluffy and very simple to make. It melts into your mouth leaving a delicious sweet orange flavor.


  • Wheat flour (1/2 cup)
  • Refined flour/Maida (1/2 cup)
  • Baking powder (3/4 tsp)
  • Egg (1, beaten)
  • Butter (60 gms)
  • Orange juice of 1 orange
  • Powdered sugar (100 gms)


  1. In a bowl, sift wheat flour, refined flour/maida, baking powder and keep it aside.
  2. Beat an egg till fluffy and keep it aside.
  3. In another bowl, melt the butter, add powdered sugar,  orange juice and beat the mixture well to form a creamy consistency.
  4. Add the beaten egg into it and mix.
  5. Add the sift flour and mix it by folding the batter with a spoon to form a lumpy dropping consistency. Do not over mix it.
  6. Greece the muffin tray with butter and add the batter in it half full.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 180 degree Celsius.

Enjoy your orange muffin once it cools down.

Black Forest Cake for Christmas

The Black Forest Cake is creamed in Chocolate Cream and is garnished with Chocolate, Chocolate cigars and Cherries.

This Black Forest Cake is a continuation of the previous post Chocolate Cake.

  • Butter (170 gms)
  • Chocolate (170 gms)
  • All purpose flour/maida (130 gms)
  • Eggs (6)
  • Sugar (160 gms)
  • Cake Gel (10 gms)
  • Egg yolk (4)
  • sugar (25 gms)
  • Whipped cream (100 gms)
  • Cocoa Powder (40 gms)
  • Crushed Cherries (1 cup)
  • Sugar syrup (50 gms)
  • Cherry liquor (30 ml)


For sponge

  1. Melt the butter and chocolate and mix together keep aside.
  2. Beat the egg white, sugar and cake gel, till light & fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolks.
  4. Add butter and chocolate mix to the egg and sugar mix.
  5. Fold in the sieved flour and cocoa powder
  6. Bake at 190 deg C for 20 min.

For Chocolate cream

  1. Add 100 Gms of Chocolate Ganache to 100 Gms whipped cream.

For assembling:

  1. Cut the Chocolate sponge 8′ round into 3 layers, 1 cm height.
  2. Soak the sponge with sugar syrup and Cherry liquor, and layer the first sponge with chocolate cream.
  3. Repeat the above process layering the second sponge with whipped cream.
  4. Layer this layer with crushed cherries.
  5. Place the last sponge and soak with sugar syrup and Cherry liquor and finish with Whipped Cream
  6. Allow to set
  7. Decorated with Chocolate Garnish like Chocolate cigars, Chocolate rolls and Cherries..
