Rose milk jelly

Rose milk jelly is a delicious dessert made of milk and jelly.. A quick and easy recipe that you can try out any time for  a perfect meal.



  • Milk (5 cups)
  • Gelatin powder (2 & 1/2 tbsp)
  • Powdered sugar(1/3 cup)
  • Vanila essence( 1 tsp)
  • Rose syrup(1/4 tsp)

In a mixing bowl, add milk (3/4 cup), gelatin powder and mix well to dissolve. Keep it aside.
In a heavy bottom pan, add remaining milk,powdered sugar, Vanilla essence,Rose syrup and mix well.
Heat it and bring it to a boil. Simmer in slow flame.
Add the gelatin milk and gelatin mix into it and mix well till the gelatin dissolves.
Take it out of the flame and pour it in the shape of the container you want it to be.
I m using a rectangular shaped container, allow it to come to a room temperature and set it.
Refrigerate it for 5-6 hours.
Take it out and the milk jelly will be formed.
Place a dish, and gently tap on the back of the container, the jelly will come out easily.
Decorate it with some sugar rose or sugar strawberry and rose syrup.

Delicious Rose milk jelly is ready to be served at the dinner table .. 🙂

Bake a chocolate cake

Chocolate cake is our all time favourite. This christmas, I will show you the easy way to bake one.


All purpose flour(1 cup)
Cocoa powder (1/2 cup)
Baking soda
Baking powder
Eggs (4)
Powdered sugar(1 & 1/4 cup)
Vanilla essence(1 tsp)
Oil (3/4 cup)
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree celcius for 10 minutes.
Sift the all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda
and baking powder together. Keep it aside.
In another mixing bowl, add 4 egss and wisk well.
Add the powdered sugar and beat it for 15 minutes. You
can also use and electric beater to beat the egg and
Add vanilla essence.
Add oil and gradually mix it.
Add the sift flour mix and fold in gently. Fold till
the dry ingredients mixes well with the mixture.
Do not wisk it or beat the mixture as the air will
start to escape.
After folding in the batter we will get a chocolate mix
and our cake mix is ready.
Pour the mixture in a greased cake tray.
Bake it at 180 degree celcius in a pre-heated oven for
45 minutes.
Take out the cake from the oven and check if it is
cooked on the inside. Insert the toothpick in the
center of the cake and if it comes out clean, then the
cake is cooked on the inside.
Wait for 5 to 10 minutes before removing the cake from
the tray.
Spongy chocolate cake is now ready to be serve.

Banana muffin recipe

Banana muffin is an easy and quick to make recipe.

Whole wheat flour(1/2 cup)
All purpose flour/maida(1/2 cup)
Baking powder(3/4 tsp)
Egg (1)
Butter (1/3 cup)
Milk (1/3 cup)
Banana (1 ripe)
Vanilla essence(1 tsp)
Powdered sugar(3/4 cup)
Line the muffin tin with muffin cups.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
Sift whole wheat flour, baking powder and all purpose flour together. Throw away the residue and mix well the dry ingredients. Keep it aside.
Beat an egg till it becomes fluffy. Keep it aside.
In a microwave safe dish, add butter and milk and microwave it for 2 minutes.
Take a ripe banana and mash it with a fork. Keep it aside.
Remove the milk and butter from microwave and add vanilla essence and powdered sugar. Beat till we get a creamy consistency.
Add beaten egg, sift flour and fold in gently.
Fold till we get a lumpy batter of a soft dropping consistency. Do not over mix, once the consistency is reached, stop mixing it.
Fill the muffin tray with the mix.
Use a spoon to fill in the muffin tray and fill in half cup of the tray since the muffin will rise once it is baked.
Bake it at 180 degree celsius for 25 minutes in a pre-heated oven.
Allow the muffin to cool before serving.
Banana muffin is now ready to be served.

Baked yogurt

Baked yogurt is very simple to make and is a great dessert. It is made of just 3 ingredients and takes only 15 minutes to make this dessert.


  • Yoghurt(1 cup)
  • Cream(1 cup)
  • Condensed milk/Nestle milk maid(1 cup)


  1. Pre-heat the oven at 180 Degree Celcius for 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, add ,yoghurt, Condensed milk and mix well. I have used Nestle milkmaid.
  3. Milk gently so that no lumps are formed.
  4. Pour the mixture in a double boiler and bake it for 15 minutes.
  5. In case you do not have a double boiler, take a pan, place a bake tray, pour the mixture in the bake tray.
  6. Now pour water outside of the bake tray in the pan. bake it for 15 minutes.
  7. Alright, after baking for 15 minutes, our baked yoghurt is now ready. Allow it to cool. Refridgerate it for 15 minutes
  8. Garnish it with some chopped almonds.

There our baked yogurt is now ready to be served.

Jam tarts

These jam tarts are very simple to make and a perfect delight for Christmas. It is a wonderful dish which can be made very easily.


  • All purpose flour (2 cups)
  • Unsalted butter(100 gms, chopped)
  • Icing sugar (3 tbsp)
  • Egg yolk(of 1 egg)
  • Fruit jam/jam of your choice


  1. In a bowl add all purpose flour, unsalted butter and icing sugar. Mix it lightly and then add eggyolk to make a dough. In case it does not form a dough add of water(1 tbsp) and mix lightly.
  2. Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes till the butter becomes firm again.
  3. Take the dough out and roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Add some all purpose flour to ensure that the dough does not stick on the board or surface.
  4. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter and place it in a muffin tray. Once the pastry is placed in the tray, prick it with a fork and add your favourite jam(1 & 1/2 tsp per tart). I am adding a mix fruit jam but you can add any jam of your choice. Decorate it with strips cut of the dough and bake it in a pre-heated oven at 200 degree celcius for about 15 minutes. Take it out of the oven once the pastry gets a nice golden brown colour.

Easy jam tart is now ready to be served. Enjoy!

Clafoutis – A Classic French Dessert

Clafoutis is a French Classical dessert and a very easy to make recipe.


  • Prunes(1 cup)
  • Lime juice(of half lime)
  • Grape juice OR Sweet dessert wine(1 cup)
  • All purpose flour(3/4 cup)
  • Sugar(1/3 cup)
  • Salt(a pinch)
  • Vanilla essense (1 tsp)
  • Eggs(3)
  • Milk(1 & 1/3 cup)


  1. In a bowl, add prunes, lime juice & Grape juice/Sweet dessert wine and mix well and allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, add all purpose flour, sugar, salt, vanilla essence, eggs, milk and mix the ingredients to make a smooth batter.
  3. Preheat the oven at 170 degree celcuis. Grease a baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle some sugar to coat the dish lightly. After that place the marinated prunes in the baking dish and pour
  5. the batter.
  6. Bake it in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes at 170 degree celcius.
  7. Test the dish to ensure that the batter is cooked thoroughly and remove it from the oven.

Clafoutis is now ready to be served at room temperature. Garnish it with some prunes and enjoy the dish.

Christmas Chicken Pie with Eggplant

Christmas Chicken Pie with Eggplant is a delicious crusty pie made of minced chicken, eggplant and lot of cheese in it. Perfect for this Christmas eve.


 For 4 persons

To grill Eggplant/Brinjal

  • Eggplant/Brinjal (4 large, sliced)
  • Salt(1/2 tbsp)
  • Cooking oil(enough to grill the eggplant/brinjal, 1 tbsp for every round)

For Chicken

  • Cooking oil (1 tbsp)
  • Garlic(3 cloves, sliced)
  • Rind of Parmesan Cheese (optional)
  • Onion(1, chopped)
  • Oregano leaves(1 tsp)
  • Minced Chicken (250 gms)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Tomato puree(3 tbsp)


  • Parmesan Cheese(grated, enough to sprinkle for the layers)
  • Tomato puree (enough to drizzle over the layers)


  • Parmesan Cheese(3 tbsp, grated)
  • Bread Crumbs(3 tbsp)
  • Oregano leaves (1 tsp)
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp)


To grill Eggplant/Brinjal

  1. Take the large eggplant and cut it into slices. I have taken 2 eggplant for the dish which serves 2 as main course or can be enough for 4 person as part of a meal.
  2. After you cut the slices, add salt to the eggplant and keep for around 30 mins. This will allow the salt to get absorbed and pull out excess water from the eggplant giving it a very nice golden grill marks when you grill the eggplant.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and grill all the eggplant till cooked on both sides. This will take about 3 minutes on
    each side.

For Chicken

  1. In another pan, add cooking oil and allow it to get hot.
  2. Add garlic and saute it for 30 seconds. Add the rind of the Parmesan cheese for added flavor to the dish.
  3. Add onion to the dish and saute till the onion becomes translucent and changes color.
  4. Add few oregano leaves and immediately add minced chicken to the pan.
  5. Allow it to sear on one side and then saute the mince to cook it well.
  6. Add salt into it and cook till done.
  7. After 3 mins add tomato puree and cook it well. Keep cooking till the mixture turns almost dry.


  1. Now take a ovenproof baking dish and layer the grilled eggplant slices. Ensure to cover the dish completely so that the bottom is covered.
  2. Add tomato puree and top with the chicken mince mixture. Sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese and repeat procedure of
  3. layering the eggplant, tomato sauce and cheese.
  4. Cover with another layer of eggplant.


  1. Make a crumble with parmesan cheese, oregano leaves and breadcrumbs. Add olive oil and mix well.
  2. Top this mixture on top of the eggplant layer. Once the pie is baked, this will give it a nice crunch to the dish.


  1. Once the above procedure is done, cover it with a aluminium foil and bake in oven at 190 degree Celsius for 20 minutes in a pre-heated oven. After 20 minutes remove the aluminium foil and bake it for a further 10 minutes or till the crust forms a nice golden brown color.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow this to cool for a while before cutting the pie.
