Oats Poridge


  • Oats (1 cup)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • water (3 cups)
  • Sugar/ honey
  • Fruits


  1. Heat water in a heavy bottom pan. When water comes to boil, add the oats and stir.
  2. Cook it for 5 minutes. Add milk into it and cook till the milk boils. Keep stiring.
  3. In a bowl cut fruits of your choice, and add the oats into it. Pour honey over it and stir.

Nutritious porridge is ready to be served hot or chilled.

Rava payasam/ Sweet Semolina Porridge/ Rava Kheer


Rava/Semolina (1 cup)

  • Milk (1 cup)
  • Sugar (1/2 cup)
  • Oil/Ghee/fat (1 tbsp)
  • Dry fruits (1/2 cup)
  • Water (2 cups)


  1. Heat Ghee/fat in a pan. Roast dry fruits in low flame. Remove the roast dry fruits and keep it aside.
  2. Add Rava/Semolina to the same pan and roast it till it become ivory color (off white). Pour water and milk and boil it. Stir it frequently till the rava/semolina cooks. Add sugar and cardamom powder and stir. Garnish with roasted dry fruits.
  3. Rava Payasam / Sweet Semolina porridge can be served hot or chilled.
