Gajar ka halwa

Gajar ka halwa is  a popular Indian dessert, made of fresh carrots.

This is a very easy version of making Gajar ka halwa as I will be using microwave to use this dish.


  • Carrots (1/2 kg, grated)
  • Milk(1/2 cup)
  • Sugar (1/2 cup)
  • Ghee (2 tbsp)
  • Cardamom (powdered, of 2 cardamom pods/ a pinch)
  • cashewnuts (roasted, 1 tbsp)
  • Rasins( roasted, 1 tbsp)


Grate half kg of carrots and keep it aside.

Add the grated carrot into the microwave safe bowl.

To it add  milk and sugar. Mix it well and place it in the microwave.

Microwave for 8 minutes on high power. In case you want you can cover the bowl with a cling film to retain moisture.

After you remove it from the microwave, add ghee or clarified butter into it and mix well.

After mixing it, place it back in the microwave and cook it on high power for another 10 minutes.

Once the milk has evaporated and the halwa is dry, add  powdered cardamom and mix well so that the aroma of the cardamom powder mixes well in the halwa.

Delicious Gajar ka halwa is now ready to be served at room temperature. Enjoy!

Garden fresh salad

Garden fresh salad is loaded with vegetables, high in fiber and good on your diet.


  • Onion(3, diced)
  • Tomatoes(4, wedges)
  • French beans (long cut, 150 gms)
  • Baby potatoes (8 to 9)
  • Lime juice (1 tbsp)
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp)


For vegetables:

  1. Fill a vessel with water, add salt (1/2 tbsp) and bring it to boil.
  2. Add the french beans into it and cook them till tender.
  3. Drain away the water and add the french beans in ice cold water so as to retain its green color.
  4. Drain away the water from the french beans and keep it aside.
  5. Fill a vessel with water, add salt (1/2 tbsp) and bring it to boil.
  6. Add the baby potatoes into it and cook them till tender.
  7. Drain away the water from the potatoes.
  8. Cut the potatoes in halves.


In a bowl, add freshly squeezed lime juice, olive oil and mix them well. Dressing for the salad is ready keep it aside.


In a bowl, add the salad dressing, baby potatoes, french beans, onion diced, tomato wedges and mix them well.

Garden fresh salad is now ready. Serve fresh. Enjoy!

  • Cooking oil (1 tbsp)
  • Cumin seeds (1/2 tsp)
  • Turmeric powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Curry leaves (few)
  • Green chilly (1, split)
  • Yoghurt( plain, 200 gms)


  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds into it. Once it splutter, add turmeric powder, curry leaves, green chilly and saute will.
  • Switch off the flame and add the yoghurt, mix well.
  • Add salt and mix till the yoghurt smooths.
  • Instant dahi curry is now ready to be served.

Serve it hot with steamed rice.

  • Apple (2, chopped)
  • Sugar (1 & 1/2 cup)
  • Water (1 & 1/2 cup)
  • Citric acid (a pinch)


  1. In a pan, add all the ingredients and cook for 10 minutes or till the apples turn tender and soft.
  2. Blend this in a blender and apple pulp is formed.
  3. For serving, add some ice cubes in a glass, fill quater part with apple pulp and remaining part with water.
  4. Mix well.

Chilled Apple juice is ready to be served.
